Danielle Dean's goal in extra time helped the Rockville Varsity Girls Soccer team avenge an earlier season loss to Watkins Mill and knocked them out of the playoffs with a 4-3 win. Watkins Mill opened with the scoring in the late in the first half making it 1-0. Early in the second half, Lauren Goldstein scored her 11th goal of the season off a post deflection from a Danielle Dean shot. Shortly later, Daneille Dean was brought down in front of the goal while attempting to finish, resulting in a penalty kick which was converted by Sophia Dillon making it 2-1. With 16 minutes remaining, Dillon again got on the score sheet with her second goal of the night and 17th of the season by beating her defender and putting the ball farside away from the goalkeeper making it 3-1. With less than 8 minutes remaining Watkins Mill rallied and scored 2 goals in 3 minutes thus bringing both side level 3-3 forcing the game to overtime where Dean's goal clinched it. Rockville will now face Damascus who won their semi-final game against Einstein, 5-0. The section playoff finals are tentatively scheduled for 7 pm at Damscus.
